A national survey done by NCCIH, National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, found that 1.7 million kids participated in yoga in 2012 and several studies have found that yoga enhances the mental and physical health of children aged 6-12 years old. Studies have shown the benefits of yoga in children, such as strength, focus and even lower anxiety and stress levels. It was also found that yoga could help children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). There has been an increase in yoga in school curriculums to help children focus. Yoga can also increase the confidence a child has. This article gave steps on how to do simple yoga with kids, such as a breathing exercise, yoga games, and mediation.
